The vessel is nitrogen padded using a split range pressure controller.
When the vessel is filling with liquid, this increases the pressure driving out nitrogen. When the vessel is emptying, nitrogen is introduced to the system to maintain the pressure.
The split range control allows the user to vary the opening and closing point of the valves to study different variations of dead zone or cross over.
