Digital Twin Capabilities
Over the next few editions of our newsletter, TSC will look at the different ways of how digital twin solutions benefit the process industry and how they are applied to optimise business performance and what tools and technologies we use to achieve this.
We will be focusing on areas such as:
- Capabilities– Enabling life-cycle decision making and increasing efficiencies.
- Asset Capture– Methods used and software available.
- BIM– Building Information Modelling and how we generate and manage digital representations of physical plants.
- Visualisation– Which 3D visualisation tools are available and software conversions.
- Simulation & Optimisation.
The digital twin capabilities represents the physical plant assets and processes that take place within them, it also enables virtual training of process operations and supports the need for process optimisation and experimentation without risking the processes or operations of the actual plant.
This effectively is what dynamic process simulation has been achieving for many years through lifecycle MPDS (Multi-Purpose Dynamic Simulator). However, digital twins not only help understand what ‘may’ happen, but crucially what ‘is’ happening. A term which is referred to as Real-time data.
TSC have developed its own state-of-the-art studio facility to capture and create 3D digital twin imagery and display it in any visualisation option.
