TSC Deliver Simulation Platform to Aston University
TSC Simulation have recently supplied Aston University a set of dynamic process simulations for use through their own University cloud system; ‘AstonApps’.
The system allows students to run the simulation models remotely. TSC worked closely with the university IT department to ensure a swift rollout by adapting our own licensing mechanisms to integrate with theirs.
For us at TSC, this was a brand-new and exciting project. In one week, the system was adapted, tested, and installed.
Dr Amiri, of Aston Chemical Engineering Department commented “At Aston University, we have started using TSC simulators to provide our students with the best support for online teaching and learning. With accessibility 24/7, students will be able to run simulations anywhere without time and space barriers. Given the limits presented by Covid-19 for running physical labs, this was a perfect opportunity to provide students with the best experience for process labs and modeling-based courses during the epidemic.
Digitalisation of teaching and assessment in coming years, will benefit extremely from such user-friendly and computationally efficient platforms”.
“Being reasonably simple and user-friendly, TSC simulators enable us to efficiently deliver the first dynamic simulation experience to our chemical engineering students. Aston University’s chemical engineering programmes now have state-of-the-art simulation systems.”
The simulation supplied included:
- Sim 3222 Shell and tube Heat Exchanger Ratio and Cascade
- Sim 3400 Binary Column
- Sim 3410 Absorption Column
- Sim 4502 Advanced Reactor – CSTR
